Education Background
Dr. Yang Daigang, received his BS Degree in Agronomy (1984) from Huazhong Agricultural College, Jingzhou, Hubei, China, earned his MS degree in Crop Genetics and Breeding (1992) from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China, and gained his PhD. in Crop Genetics and Breeding (2011) from Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing, China.
Research Area
His main research area has focused on genetics and breeding of cotton. He was leader of cotton breeding group for the Yangtze River valley, and deputy director of genetics and breeding research laboratory of the Institute of cotton research (CAAS). He was chief agronomist of the Academy & Director of the Cotton Breeding Institute of the Academy of Jingzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hubei province from 1992 to 2003. He has been a provincial distinguished young expert since 1997. He has bred 15 cotton cultivars.
He was a visiting scholar at New Mexico State University in US from September of 2008 to September of 2009, and a visiting researcher working at Crop Genetic National Key Laboratory in Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan in 1993.
He won the second prize of Science and Technology Advancement of the Ministry of Agriculture of China in 1993.
